Everton want to sign Brazilian forward Matheus Saldanha after agent transfer update
Everton are one of the clubs interested in signing Matheus Saldanha from Partizan this summer, according to Sports Digitale.
Presenter Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has shared (23 May) that the Brazilian’s agent revealed he has not had any negotiations with a Turkish team for a transfer.
French outfit Lille have had an £6.8 million bid rejected for Saldanha, with Everton and Sporting Lisbon now also interested.
Should Everton sign Matheus Saldanha?
Saldanha is a Brazilian forward who has played for plenty of teams across multiple leagues in just four years.
He started his career with Santos’ youth academy before making a move to fellow Seria A side Bahia.
The Brazilian has since played in Japan, China and Azerbaijan across three loan spells before moving to Serbia.
He currently plays for Partizan who he joined in July 2023 and has an existing four-year contract with.
This campaign Saldanha has scored 16 goals and assisted five across just 22 league matches with an additional two goals in other competitions.
At 24 years old, it may prove to be a concern that he has never played in a top division when Everton consider signing him.
Given that the likes of Lille and Sporting are also interested in acquiring him, he clearly has something special that is desirable.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin potentially departing [Luke Edwards], Saldanha could be his replacement.
He hasn’t got any Premier League experience, alongside the likes of Beto and Yousef Chermiti Dyche might have a problem on his hands.
Regardless of this, if the fee is right this summer, Saldanha could be an exciting signing this summer.
