Conor Coady makes Jarrad Branthwaite plea following Everton transfer speculation
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite shouldn’t try to rush into a transfer away from Goodison Park, according to Conor Coady.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Coady discussed the heightening transfer rumours surrounding the centre-back and said if possible, Branthwaite staying with the Blues would be a sensible decision.
Branthwaite has been valued at £80million and linked with a big-money move to Manchester United, and with Everton in dire financial straits, a transfer to bring in much-needed funds looks increasingly likely.
On that speculation, Coady said: “I look at someone like Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been outstanding at Everton. He is another one who, looking at it, everyone has seen him linked with Manchester United and all sorts.
“I don’t think it’s a waste if you do another year, I don’t. Everton fans absolutely love you, they adore you, you are going to play every minute of every game, Sean Dyche loves you.”
Jarrad Branthwaite edging closer to Everton exit door
Everton will undoubtedly have to make several headline player sales this summer, in a bid to keep their heads above financial waters with a takeover of the club seemingly no closer.
Branthwaite is arguably the highest-profile player who has been linked with a departure, with Manchester United reportedly preparing to bid for the 21-year-old.

Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin and midfielder Amadou Onana are two other high-value players who could be moved off the books at Goodison Park in the coming weeks, in order to fund replacements.
Coady’s sentiment on Branthwaite’s position will be reflected by many a Toffees fan, but the soon-to-be England defender’s asset value is something that cannot be overlooked by the cash-strapped club.
Should a bid close to his £80million valuation come in from Manchester United, Everton may have no choice but to accept, and if that kind of money proves to be the difference between financial meltdown and salvation at Goodison, Branthwaite will surely be sporting new club colours next season.
In other Everton news, a European club is open to selling their centre-back for £21million as Branthwaite’s transfer development has emerged.
