Everton must act quickly after what Omari Benjamin said this week

Everton must act quickly to secure Omari Benjamin’s signature this summer after the youngster confirmed his Arsenal exit on Tuesday (21 May).

According to TEAMtalk [13 April], the Toffees are favourites to sign the 18-year-old forward and have already prepared a contract at Goodison Park.

However, with little to no movement on that exciting transfer since, Everton must be on high alert after Benjamin confirmed his exit from the Emirates Stadium earlier this week.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (21 May), he wrote: “Thank you to all the coaches, staff and players for helping me during my 5 years at Arsenal.

“It’s been a joy to play for this club and I will take all my learning and all the great memories made with me. Wish you all the best.”

Considering that multiple clubs are interested in the Welshman’s signature, it is vital that the Merseyside club step up their efforts to secure the signing before they are beaten to the punch.

Everton-linked Omari Benjamin becomes free agent after Arsenal exit

The 18-year-old, who has recently taken the step up to Under-21s level, has been in good form at youth level this season, notching five goals and two assists in 18 appearances.

Benjamin’s future has been highly anticipated, with several clubs interested in stealing the youngster as it looked destined for him to leave Arsenal on a free transfer.

He is also a regular figure for Wales Under-19s, having made his debut in March 2023 and is an exciting international prospect for Rob Page’s senior side.

Considering the financial issues at Goodison Park this season, it seems like a no-brainer for the Toffees to snap the young star up, especially on a free transfer following his Arsenal exit.

Omari Benjamin, Everton target

There is no reason why the teenager cannot become a Premier League-level forward, being capable of deputising as a striker or on the left flank.

Everton, of course, will not be the only club understanding the talent that he possesses, so they must act quickly if they are to seal the free transfer this summer.
