Crystal Palace figures react to John Textor stance amid Everton takeover latest

Crystal Palace chiefs have disagreed on a multi-club ownership structure as John Textor looks set to sell his stake to take over at Everton from Farhad Moshiri, according to The Standard.

Simon Collings has reported (28 May) that the Palace board have taken his decision to sell his stakes in the club “amicably”.

Textor purchased 40 per cent of shares in the Eagles in 2021, which were worth £87.5million, and he added an additional five per cent last year.

The American also holds shares in French outfit Lyon, Brazilian’s Botafogo, the Belgian side RWD Molenbeek and is looking to add Everton to that list.

Palace’s hierarchy allowing him to depart the club this summer could be music to the Toffees’ ears.

The dealings between Moshiri and various potential suitors to purchase Everton feel like they have lasted forever.

777 Partners looked like the club was going to be theirs when their talks with the Toffees were lengthy.

These were cut off after failed payments to Everton and to their other owned club, Standard Liege, put Moshiri off from continuing those discussions.

The points deductions didn’t hamper Sean Dyche’s side in the end but he will be hopeful of not having to deal with anything like that again.

Textor has a proven track record of working positively with football clubs and it is even more encouraging that he has Premier League work on his CV.

Palace have been a stable club in the division since their promotion ten years ago and that is thanks in part to the American’s work.

If Texator comes in, with the new stadium and new season on the horizon, Everton fans may have some light at the end of the tunnel.
