Arthur Melo makes transfer admission amid Everton interest
Everton remain very interested in bringing former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo to Goodison Park this summer, according to MailOnline.
As reported by Simon Jones [28 May], on-loan Fiorentina man Arthur has stated he is eager for a return to the Premier League having felt he has unfinished business in England, with a loan spell at Anfield last season producing just 13 minutes of football.
Despite his Liverpool connections, Everton should considering biting the bullet of his plagued stint in red to bring him back to Merseyside.
The Brazilian loanee from Juventus has rekindled his career in Florence this season after his spell in the Premier League was blighted by injury and physical difficulties, and he has a Europa Conference League final to look forward to against Olympiacos on Wednesday (29 May).
Jones’ feature with Arthur stated: “It is Liverpool’s neighbours Everton who have shown interest in making [a return to England] happen so far, on another loan.
“Other clubs are beginning to make enquiries. A strong performance in Athens against Olympiacos could increase demand.”
Could Arthur Melo succeed in Everton blue?
At 27 and with a second wind of fitness and form, Arthur has done his wish of another crack at English football no harm at all.
He has made 47 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Fiorentina, with a potential pot of gold in Athens as the club look to go one better in the Conference League than last year.
Arthur was not part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans at Juventus, but with Thiago Motta replacing Allegri at the helm, the midfielder could have another chance offered to him in Turin.

However, it appears the player has his heart set on England, and Everton are evidently seeking experienced players in his position having also been linked with Wilfried Ndidi this week.
The blue half of Merseyside could provide ample opportunity for Arthur to raise his stock in the Premier League, with Sean Dyche potentially acting as a positive mentor for a player who clearly thrives off confidence and momentum.
Arthur will also wish to add to his 22 senior Brazil caps, which regular top-flight football will continue to support.
