Dominic Calvert-Lewin faces uncertain Everton future as contract talks emerge
Bryan King claims Everton are not in a position to be offering players new contracts.
The ex-Goodison scout still believes that the Toffees are in control of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at the club.
Newcastle United have been linked with a move for the striker, who has been offered a new contract at Goodison Park (via Liverpool Echo, 30 May).
But King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes Calvert-Lewin’s future depends on a takeover deal at the club.
“Everton aren’t in a position to be handing out new contracts,” King said.
“But Calvert-Lewin is still under contract with the club, and they are therefore in control of the deal.
“A lot of this will depend on what happens with the club’s financial situation.”
Everton will hope to fend off Newcastle United’s interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It looks set to be another summer of uncertainty on Merseyside.
Unfortunately for the club, they are in no position to compete financially with Newcastle.

Any contract they can offer Calvert-Lewin is likely to be bettered by the Magpies.
As a result, the 27-year-old could be on the move this summer.
In other Everton news, the club are to make a “significant” transfer once a takeover is complete.
