Newcastle line up Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Alexander Isak replacement

Bryan King believes Newcastle United could be lining Everton ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin up as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak.

The ex-Goodison scout feels as if Calvert-Lewin could be a good addition for Eddie Howe at St James’ Park.

It comes after a report in The Telegraph (23 May) revealed that the 27-year-old is on “a very short list of targets” for the Magpies.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – claims that a move would be “feasible”.

“I think Calvert-Lewin and Isak could be quite a dynamic duo,” King said.

“On the other hand, perhaps Newcastle are preparing for Isak to move on.

“It is certainly feasible, and I think Calvert-Lewin would fit in well at Newcastle United.

“His movement is good, and he can finish.”

Could Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin replace Alexander Isak at Newcastle United?

Calvert-Lewin endured a difficult 2023/24 campaign.

However, he started to show some signs of life toward the end of the season.

While he might not be of the same quality as Isak, there is no reason why he couldn’t improve his levels with a move to Newcastle.

As per The Mirror (23 May), Arsenal are interested in signing Isak from Newcastle.

The Magpies could therefore look to repacle their frontman with Calvert-Lewin.

Supporters at Goodison Park will likely be keen to keep hold of the Englishman, but just as was the case with Anthony Gordon, a move to Tyneside could prove difficult to refuse.

In other Everton news, the club have moved ahead of Leeds United in the race for a midfielder.
