Vatche Manoukian takeover timeline laid out at Everton after Farhad Moshiri talks

Vatche Manoukian would ideally like to seal a deal to purchase Everton within “the next couple of months”, according to The Independent.

The report on 9 June states that Manoukian’s consortium has made an all-equity bid of £400million to Farhad Moshiri, with talks having been held between the two men.

There are thought to be at least three other parties who have expressed interest in taking over at Everton since the end of 777 Partners’ exclusivity period at the end of May.

Could Everton have new owners before the start of next season?

If a deal can be struck to wrap up a change of ownership before the start of the 2024/25 campaign, that can only be beneficial for Everton.

The club’s summer transfer business will likely be contingent on their financial stability and the sooner new owners are put in place, the better.

Everton must weigh up which and how many of their most valuable players – such as Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana – to sell, as well as who they can afford to bring in.

Additionally, the Toffees must negotiate the threat of administration and the expense of building their new stadium alongside their substantial existing debt.

Toffees fans will be keen to avoid a repeat of the lengthy takeover saga in which 777 agreed an exclusivity deal in September but failed to complete the purchase of the club until that agreement’s deadline passed at the end of May.

Given the number of offers Moshiri seems to be receiving, a quick deal looks like a genuine possibility.
