Everton in extreme situation amid Armando Broja transfer chase and takeover race – Sky Sports
Everton have an “extremely difficult” financial situation until their takeover is completed which is hindering transfer options, according to Sky Sports.
The outlet reported via their website’s transfer live-blog on 11 June (5.43pm) that the Toffees’ admiration of Chelsea striker Armando Broja couldn’t go any further without funds being generated elsewhere.
At Stamford Bridge they are prepared to listen to offers for the 22-year-old, with AC Milan interested, as well as a trio of financially-challenged Premier League clubs.
Sean Dyche’s men are joined by Southampton, where Broja previously spent a successful season on loan, and Wolves in eyeing a move for him, but none can do so as things stand.
Chelsea striker out of reach as Farhad Moshiri plans Everton sale
Once the ownership issue is eventually settled it should help ease a financial situation that hasn’t been easy for a long time, although has improved since the season concluded, and there are suggestions that the takeover race winner may already be established.
But even if a new owner buys the club from Farhad Moshiri while the transfer window is still open it won’t likely mean that Dyche can immediately be furnished with a load of new signings thanks to profit and sustainability regulations which have already hit the club twice.
A major sale could open the door to spending money on a new arrival but how much of any fee brought in would be made available to spend immediately is unclear.
Should Newcastle target Dominic Calvert-Lewin leave it would increase the need for someone like Broja, even if his lack of goals in the past couple of seasons make it debatable whether he was the right replacement, while big-money defensive star Jarrad Branthwaite is wanted at Manchester United.

The precise reality of the pressure the Toffees are under is difficult to determine as there have been competing suggestions that the club must sell players before 30 June to help avoid a third PSR breach [Sky Sports, 29 May], let alone look at signings, but also that cost cutting measures behind the scenes have eased the situation [Giulia Bould, 3 June].
But if the club are sure they won’t be rushed into selling Branthwaite for a reduced price then it may be that there isn’t much major movement in the squad for a while yet.
Things are finally heading in a positive direction with the takeover after months of worry around 777 Partners, but there will still need to be a number of key hurdles cleared before the situation is resolved.
And similarly with the transfer window it looks like incomings will be difficult without unless or until there are some significant departures.
