Everton make Amadou Onana decision as Tottenham transfer update drops

Arsenal and Tottenham are expressing an interest in Everton star Amadou Onana with a £50m price tag now set, according to Ignazio Genuardi.

The Belgian international is under contract at Goodison Park until June 2027 so they are under no pressure to sell him from that perspective.

There is interest from the Premier League and Spain for the Toffees star with Spurs joining Arsenal in the race to sign the midfielder.

The journalist has now reported (13 June) that the 22-year-old could be sold for “around” £50m by Everton this summer.

Amadou Onana once again linked away from Everton

It has been no secret that the Toffees may be forced into selling star names this summer to comply with financial issues.

These have plagued the club for years and culminated in two points deductions and seen Farhad Moshiri do his best to try and sell the club.

Sean Dyche was able to guide Everton to Premier League safety with time to spare despite everything that went against them.

This summer, Onana could still depart Goodison Park given the level of sides that are interested in signing him ahead of the new season.

The Belgian has been one of the shining lights for Everton at a time when they have failed to make many positive signings in the transfer window.

At 22, he is far from the finished article but is only going to get better over time which could be to the benefit of Everton in the future.

On the flip side, he could be a useful option to be sold this summer if PSR issues need to be rectified as it could be argued Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite are more important.
