Everton must make Sean Dyche decision as contract extension claim emerges
Bryan King claims Everton must decide whether or not Sean Dyche will remain as manager.
The ex-Goodison scout feels that sorting out a long-term plan in the dugout should be a priority.
Dyche has a contract with Everton which runs until 2025. Therefore, the 53-year-old will leave Goodison Park next summer if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal.
And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the club need to provide some clarity.
“We’re still waiting for confirmation on who is going to be the manager,” King said.
“Dyche is doing everything as the manager, but is he going to be given a contract extension?
“Surely the future of the manager has to be a priority, it isn’t long until the new season starts.
“They will want to look at the players coming in and out of the club, but they will also want to know who the manager is going to be.”
Will Sean Dyche remain with Everton beyond next season?
Building for the future is difficult when you don’t know who your manager is going to be beyond the end of the season.
When the 2024/25 campaign gets underway it will officially be Dyche’s last season in charge of the Toffees, unless he is offered a new deal.
That leaves things up in the air, which could cause unrest behind the scenes.

As a result, should the Friedkin Group complete a takeover at Goodison Park, putting a long-term managerial plan in place must be one of the first things they do.
In other Everton news, King has detailed a “big boost” for the club after a Jarrad Branthwaite update.
