Dominic Calvert-Lewin alternative transfer on cards after Everton development

Dan Bardell believes that Che Adams could be signed as an alternative to Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Everton after he turned down a contract offer.

The Englishman has rejected a new deal at Goodison Park [Graeme Bailey] so a move away seems likely, with Newcastle United interested.

Birmingham World has suggested (4 July) that the Toffees could look to sign Adams on a free after Wolves pulled out of a deal.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell thinks the Scottish international could be a useful piece of business if Calvert-Lewin is to leave.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “He wouldn’t be a like-for-like option. I think they have different facets to their games.

He’s a player who has been linked with Everton over the last few years and he is a solid enough Premier League striker.

Even if Everton sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin for good money, the transfer window is still going to be tough to navigate. They aren’t going to be able to throw big money around and they already have Beto who they spent a lot of money on.

Che Adams as a low-maintenance, low-risk signing, I don’t think he’d set the world on fire but would be an ok signing.

Everton could sign Che Adams

There is no doubt that Sean Dyche would be in need of a new striker option at Goodison Park if Calvert-Lewin were to force a move away.

The Englishman has been a consistent force in the Toffees squad ever since his move from Sheffield United in 2016.

With him leaving, Adams could prove to be a useful addition and would provide a different dynamic to the team for next season.

The 27-year-old would bring pace and physicality to the Everton front line which would be different to the hold-up that Calvert-Lewin brings to the table.

In other Everton news, the Toffees may have found their Dominic Calvert-Lewin replacement should the striker depart this summer.
