Everton takeover cannot come quick enough as The Esk shares new Dan Friedkin admission
The Esk has admitted that Dan Friedkin’s takeover of Everton “cannot come quick enough” as the wait for Premier League approval continues.
Friedkin is currently conducting his own due diligence having entered into an exclusivity agreement with Farhad Moshiri and his ratification from the Premier League is not expected to be any more than a formality [Tutto Mercato Web, 18 June].
Although the deal is expected to be concluded without a hitch, Toffees financial expert The Esk admits that it would benefit the Blues if it was completed quickly so there would be some “sanity” at Goodison.
Writing on his website on Sunday (7 July) he said: “The completion of Friedkin’s due diligence and the approval of the Premier League cannot come quick enough, thereby providing some sanity to the future running of our football club.
“At an enterprise value (debt plus equity) of £800 million, possibly slightly less, the acquisition represents a fair value deal for Friedkin with plenty of upside if future on and off-field performance meets their and our expectations.”
Has Dan Friedkin taken over Everton yet amid Farhad Moshiri update?
While Friedkin’s takeover hangs in the balance, Everton are effectively left in limbo and therefore there will be very little sanity at Goodison Park until this deal is signed, sealed and delivered by all parties.
There is undoubtedly a much more positive feeling around the club now than there was only a couple of months ago when there was so much uncertainty around 777 Partners, but the finishing touches are still needed on this takeover.

Hopefully, it won’t take too long for Friedkin to complete his due diligence and his actions already at Goodison Park would suggest that he is more than eager to get this deal over the line as soon as possible.
Supporters and The Esk alike may have to wait a little while longer before the new ownership is rubber-stamped on Merseyside, but for the first time in several years, it does feel as though sanity is just around the corner at Goodison Park.
