Everton make formal decision on Jarrad Branthwaite after new Man United bid

Everton have rejected a bid from Manchester United for Jarrad Branthwaite, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist reported via X (9 July) that the Red Devils’ latest offer for Branthwaite was £45million plus £5million in add-ons.

However, that offer has now been “formally rejected” by Everton.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X on Monday (8 July), the Toffees continue to insist on their valuation of Branthwaite, which is somewhere between £65million-£70million.

Will Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite sign for Manchester United?

It looks as though Everton are holding firm on their valuation of Branthwaite.

While plenty of supporters at Goodison Park likely anticipated that the club’s stance on the defender would eventually soften as time went on, there are so far no signs of that happening.

It suggests that the Toffees aren’t under pressure to sell and will not be forced to accept what they feel is a cut-price fee.

They have now turned down multiple bids from United for Branthwaite, and it looks as though unless Erik Ten Hag’s side meets their valuation, the 22-year-old will remain at Goodison Park.

That would be a huge boost for the club and Sean Dyche ahead of the 2024/25 campaign getting underway.

Alternatively, if United do match Everton’s valuation and Branthwaite is sold for a big-money fee, that would also provide some benefits.

As a result, it appears as though this is a win-win situation for the Toffees.
