Jaden Philogene transfer twist emerges for Everton as official offer tabled
Everton have not yet lodged an official transfer bid with Hull City for winger Jaden Philogene this summer, according to Hull Live.
The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (9 July) that “sources directly involved in the deal” have insisted that reports suggesting the Toffees have agreed to a £16million fee with the Tigers are not true.
So far, the only firm offer tabled for the 22-year-old has come from Ipswich Town and at this current moment in time that is the transfer that Hull are trying to get over the line in the coming days.
While Philogene’s agent Berto Camacho has been spotted at Finch Farm, Portman Road remains the only likely destination for both the winger and his Hull City teammate Jacob Greaves.
Will Everton sign Jaden Philogene in the summer transfer window?
It feels as though this transfer saga is producing news twists every couple of hours as several different media outlets are reporting very different angles of where Philogene could end up during the summer window.
While some have suggested the Toffees are the current frontrunners [BBC Sport, 9 July], outlets close to the deal like Hull Live appear to be insistent that the Blues are yet to even make an offer let alone agree on a fee with the Tigers.
The truth almost lies somewhere in the middle and it seems unlikely there would be such an air of confidence around Goodison Park if Everton didn’t genuinely believe they could get this deal over the line ahead of Ipswich.

Ultimately, Sean Dyche’s side should be doing all that they can to try to win this transfer race as the Toffees are in desperate need of some reinforcements in the wide areas following Arnaut Danjuma and Lewis Dobbin’s exits.
Hopefully, an official offer from the Blues won’t be too far away now and if Philogene is as keen on the move to Goodison Park as has been previously suggested, it shouldn’t be too hard for all parties to agree on a deal.
