Everton transfer development emerges as Dele Alli nears permanent move

Everton re-signing Dele Alli after negotiations with Tottenham seems like a gamble, according to Liverpool Echo’s Matt Jones.

The journalist stated on X on 12 July that signing the 28-year-old on a new contract would only make sense if the wages were reduced.

Jones is also not optimistic about the deal to sign the 37-cap England international paying off as Liverpool Echo reported on 12 July that there has been a breakthrough in the talks with an agreement close.

He wrote: “Well, did not expect this. Feels like a bit of a gamble after some smarter financial decisions this summer – unless it’s hugely reduced terms/pay as you play, of course. Really hope it pays off. Doubt it will.”

Everton need to ensure Dele Alli does not fall into the same cycle

To ensure Alli does not fall into the cycle of injuries and poor form, the Toffees must implement a comprehensive strategy that focuses on his physical and mental well-being.

Firstly, the club should prioritise the 28-year-old’s rehabilitation process by providing him with a personalised training and recovery plan.

This should include regular monitoring of his physical condition, tailored exercises to strengthen the injury-prone areas

The Toffees should invest in Alli’s mental health by offering him access to professional counselling and support networks as it will be hard for him to once again play under high expectations.

They can also work closely with the Englishman to set realistic performance goals and provide him with the necessary resources to achieve them.

A supportive and inclusive team culture that encourages Alli to express his concerns and seek help when needed may also be necessary.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have agreed a multi-million fee in principle to seal yet another transfer this summer.
