Everton ready to invest in Jesper Lindstrom transfer after news from Italy
Everton have Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom “in the crosshairs” and are ready to invest over £25million to sign him, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
In their print edition (15 July, page 15), the Italian outlet reported that the Toffees are readying efforts to sign the Denmark international, who faces a decision on his Napoli future with manager Antonio Conte.
La Gazzetta’s report states that unless he wants to play second-fiddle to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Naples next season, Lindstrom could push for a move, having hoped to feature more often at his current club.
The Blues and fellow Premier League club Aston Villa could offer Lindstrom a route out of Napoli, who want roughly £25.2million for the player who also attracted the interest of Liverpool last summer [Fabrizio Romano, 12 July].
Jesper Lindstrom transfer would be big statement of Everton intent
Given they’re hardly blessed with a plethora of options out wide going into the new season, signing a winger of proven quality is vital for the Toffees this summer and Lindstrom could very much fit the bill.
Dwight McNeil remains the only out-and-out winger under contract at Goodison Park, with Jack Harrison returning on loan from Leeds and new signing Iliman Ndiaye much more comfortable through the middle [].

Having also seemingly missed out on the signature of Jaden Philogene to Villa, the Toffees could now get one over on the Champions League’s newest club by signing Lindstrom ahead of them.
The imminent sale of Amadou Onana, to Villa Park no less, could free up almost £50million in transfer funds for Dyche to strengthen his side, and buying Lindstrom for half that fee would certainly do that [Fabrizio Romano, 13 July].
There’s little doubt that the Toffees do need to upgrade out wide in both attack and defence, and buying an industrious winger in the form of Lindstrom will undoubtedly help to fill both voids.
In other Everton news, the transfer of a Toffees-linked defender is now inevitable with his club granting him permission for a medical.
