Everton now in talks with Lindstrom agent to wrap up next signing

Everton are in talks with Jesper Lindstrom and his agent ahead of a transfer from Napoli, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian outlet reported on 19 July (page 10) that the Toffees are discussing the details of a deal ahead of an initial loan.

This move would include a £21 million option to buy next summer with the Danish international’s agent now working to find an agreement.

Everton close to Jesper Lindstrom deal

The Toffees are in need of some attacking reinforcements after struggling with scoring goals throughout last campaign.

Their defensive set-up under Sean Dyche was one of the best in the Premier League with Jarrad Branthwaite being a standout.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were the top scorers last season with just seven goals each in the league [FotMob].

That isn’t enough if the Toffees want to look further up the table next year after a positive end to the season.

After already signing Iliman Ndiaye, now attentions have been turned to Lindstrom who would certainly be a different type of player than Everton already have.

The winger had a frustrating spell at Napoli with him yet to score a goal in the Serie A which could be a concern for Dyche.

With that being said, earlier in his career the 24-year-old has scored nine and 10 goals in other seasons [FotMob].

An initial loan deal with an option to buy is one that makes sense for all parties this summer.
