Roma fans reaction to Friedkin Group takeover collapse at Everton shared
Roma fans are pretty happy to see The Freidkin Group takeover of Everton collapse, according to Corriere della Sera.
The report (page 45, 20 July) suggests that Roma supporters are generally quite pleased with the news given they hope their owners can now focus their attention on further strengthening the Italian giants.
Everton insider Bryan King exclusively told Goodison News on 7 July that the takeover hit a “stumbling block” due to the money that was owed to 777 Partners.
The Toffees are now exploring options following the dramatic news that emerged on Friday (19 July).
Everton begin to reflect
There’s no way of getting around it – this is a setback for the Toffees. The hope was that strength and stability would be introduced back to Goodison Park but, instead, it appears as if more uncertainty is on the horizon. For Roma, of course, reports of a sale to Public Investment Fund in Saudi Arabia appear to have been greatly exaggerated according to the Gazzetta report.

The Italians have been under the Friedkin ownership since August 2020 and, up to this point, they seem to be pretty happy. Everton supporters, though, can’t afford to look back on what could’ve been, especially with the new Premier League campaign being just a matter of weeks away.
Perhaps the craziest thing about this is that the English side will now be faced with a pre-season friendly clash against Roma on August 10. Prior to this, there may not have been too much weight behind it, but all of that has changed in the space of just a few days.
In other Everton news, Manchester United have submitted a bid in an attempt to hijack Aston Villa’s move for Amadou Onana.
