Aston Villa are not expected to have any problems agreeing personal terms with Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to Sky Sports News.

The broadcaster published online (21 July) that Onana is undergoing his medical with Villa on Sunday 21 July ahead of his move from Goodison Park.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (18 July), Everton are set to receive £50million plus a sell-on clause and add-ons for the 22-year-old.

Onana is expected to sign his contract with Villa on Monday (22 July).

This transfer has suddenly become much more important at Goodison Park.

While some supporters might have hoped for a last-minute issue which means they get to keep hold of a high-quality player, most fans probably now recognise that this sale is much-needed.

Following the collapse of the Friedkin Group's takeover at Goodison Park, the Toffees have once again been plunged into a period of uncertainty.

With no answer yet as to who will purchase the club, Everton's financial issues are likely to once again come to light.

Therefore, receiving a fee of £50million for Onana could suddenly be very crucial for the day-to-day running of the football club.

It looks as if this transfer will go through, and Onana will probably be incredibly delighted, as will Villa.

Meanwhile, while delight might not be the right word, Everton will no doubt at least feel some sense of relief when that payment is made.
