Everton to be exploited by Atalanta as Beto transfer decision made

Everton could be exploited as Atalanta push forward with a proposed bid of £17million for striker Beto, according to Tutto Atalanta.

As previously reported by the Italian outlet (5 August), Atalanta have decided to make a move for Beto.

The suggestion is that in the wake of signing Ben Godfrey from the Toffees, Atalanta could now exploit their positive relationship with Everton in order to also get a deal for Beto over the line.

Everton prepare for Beto transfer battle

It’s no secret that there’s been doubles over Beto’s future for months now. Alas, there are certainly questions to be asked about Atalanta’s approach for the 26-year-old.

The Europa League holders clearly smell blood in the water, and you have to wonder how the blue half of Merseyside feel about this potential deal.

Beto’s future remains uncertain

With just three goals in 30 league appearances last season, Beto didn’t exactly set the world on fire. With that being said, some would’ve thought that having strength in depth takes priority over sales like this.

It’s a case of putting trust in the management. Everyone wants to see new faces come through the door, but with just a few weeks left of the transfer window, they appear to be more on the defensive than the attack.

Perhaps Sean Dyche has a few tricks up his sleeve. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see what the fan reaction is to this potential big-money offer.

Atalanta can offer Champions League football – a reward for winning the Europa League last season – but the decision will ultimately come down to Everton.
