Chelsea striker Armando Broja transfer development emerges amid Everton links

Everton target Armando Broja appears to be being forced out of the door at Chelsea with him missing the Real Madrid game.

Fabrizio Romano took to X on 6 August to report that the Albania international was not even with the Blues squad for the pre-season friendly.

It’s understood that the 23-cap Albania international will be leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Romano wrote: “Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana are both expected to leave Chelsea on permanent transfer.

“Broja, not even in the squad tonight.”

This development comes amid reports of the Toffees being keen on signing the 22-year-old this window with talks being held over a transfer, according to AS on 12 June

Everton must look to avoid Armando Broja

The Toffees must look to sign a proven number nine if Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaves, and Broja is clearly not that.

In 66 Premier League appearances, he has returned with just eight goals – an underwhelming number for a striker at Chelsea.

Even at Fulham, where he was given the chance to prove his worth, he failed to find the back of the net in any of his eight appearances.

His only goal involvement at the club on loan was an assist and that’s not something that would’ve pleased Marco Silva as well as any manager considering a move for him.

Broja’s only decent goal-scoring campaign was in the Eredivisie back in 2020/21 when he bagged 10 goals in 30 games for Vitesse.

His overall involvement is also abysmal, as he ranks in the bottom 10 per cent for shot-creating actions and bottom 30 per cent in terms of progressive passes as well, per Fbref.

In other Everton news, Alan Myers has issued an update as the Toffees now want to sign a £25m-rated ‘Explosive’ central midfielder.
