Tommy Fleetwood sends Everton message after winning Olympic medal
Professional golfer Tommy Fleetwood has sent a message of thanks to Everton after claiming an Olympic silver medal in Paris.
Fleetwood posted on his X account [6 August] a series of thanks including to his boyhood club after scooping silver at the ongoing Olympic Games, adding another medal to the Great Britain total.
Born in Southport, the seven-time European Tour champion has supported the Toffees all his life and was commended by his club on social media.
Responding to Everton’s post: “Tommy Fleetwood. Olympic silver medallist! Proud of you,” the 33-year-old said: “Thank you, Everton!” followed by a blue heart emoji.

This is not the first time Fleetwood has been praised by the club he loves, having paraded the Ryder Cup trophy around Goodison Park in late December following his winning point for Team Europe in Rome [Mail Online, 27 December 2023].
The adulation will come again the next time he attends Goodison Park, although he does now reside in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Fleetwood also lauded Sean Dyche for the job he was doing with the Toffees when interviewed by Sky Sports last summer [19 July 2023], whilst acknowledging he was “bored” to see his club scrapping for Premier League survival.
However, given the knockbacks Dyche and his team navigated through last term, the golfing ace will be proud of what they served up on the pitch.
The next time Fleetwood is asked for his views on the Blues, there could be a nod to the chaos which has unfolded upstairs, whilst praising the team on the field.
In other Everton news, a new attacking signing could be explored from the Italian leagues.
