Everton chiefs confidence emerges as wait continues for ‘serious’ takeover bid
Everton chiefs remain confident in the Toffees’ short-term position despite takeover uncertainty at Goodison Park, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (13 August) that a “serious” bid to takeover the club is yet to arise following the collapse of the Friedkin Group’s bid to replace Farhad Moshiri on Merseyside.
Several parties interested in acquiring the Blues have taken their time to assess their options, including John Textor who has already confirmed his interest in becoming the latest owner of Everton [Daily Mirror, 11 August].
Sean Dyche’s side have spent more than was expected in a busy summer transfer window, but chiefs on the blue half of Merseyside are not concerned by the Toffees’ short-term financial position heading into the new campaign.
Everton takeover update emerged amid John Textor interest
While long-term, the lack of new investment will be a problem for the Toffees, it seems as though those in charge at Goodison believe they have what it takes to manage financially heading into the start of a new season.
A new owner still needs to be found and quickly so that there can be plenty of confidence in the Blues’ position beyond the next couple of months, but Everton can’t select a new owner if no official bids have been made by potential suitors.
The money owed to the Friedkin Group and A-Cap is always going to put potential investors off of acquiring Dyche’s side as they know they will be paying hundreds of millions of pounds of debt on top of the fee needed to purchase the club.

But someone will be willing to pay that fee because as Textor suggested, underneath the debt and issues the Toffees are a huge football club with plenty of potential on the pitch and financially off of it.
Hopefully, one of the interested parties will submit an official bid for Moshiri’s controlling stake sooner rather than later so that supporters can finally stop needing to stress about off-the-field issues heading into the new campaign.
