Everton look to complete William Tamen transfer after Goodison Park trial
Everton are hoping to wrap up the permanent signing of Burton Albion youngster William Tamen, according to The Athletic.
The outlet reported in its transfer deal sheet on Tuesday (13 August) that the young centre-back has impressed on trial with the Toffees under-21 side and the Blues are progressing with a deal to secure his signature.
Sean Dyche’s side have been looking to bolster their under-21 side over the transfer window and the addition of Tamen could add to the signing Omai Benjamin who joined the Blues having left Arsenal.

While most Everton supporters would ideally like to be hearing about one or two more first-team additions this summer, this sort of behind-the-scenes business could be crucial for the Toffees in the coming years.
Dyche has previously earmarked the lack of talent breaking into his first team from the Blues’ academy and signing exciting profiles like Tamen and Benjamin will ensure that the manager has depth to call upon in the future.
No one is expecting either player to come in and have an immediate impact in the Premier League week in and week out, but by securing their signatures at a young age, Everton could have saved themselves a lot of money in the long run.
Tamen has first-team experience from his time at Burton Albion where was handed his League Two debut last term whilst also making a couple of appearances in the EFL Trophy as well.
That may be a world away from the top flight, but at only 18 years old it shows that the young centre-back is well thought of. Who knows, he could be the next Jarrad Branthwaite as far as Toffees supporters are concerned.
Hopefully, the deal can be secured and completed with relative ease in the coming days at Goodison Park.
