Everton figures surprised by new takeover developments at Finch Farm
Senior Everton figures were reportedly surprised by new takeover developments at Finch Farm, according to Liverpool Echo.
The report (15 August) suggests that Sean Dyche, and many key figures in the club, were not aware that talks had been ongoing with Crystal Palace part-owner John Textor.
David Ornstein of the Athletic reported that paperwork had been signed for Textor to enter a period of exclusivity with Farhad Moshiri, with Sky Sports journalist (Alan Myers, 15 August) reported that negotiations are at a “formative stage”.
The Everton saga continues
One of the good notes coming out of this is that there’s a feeling of positivity and optimism within the camp. That is, of course, in relation to what’s happening on the pitch. Dyche is the kind of manager you can rely on to bring forward consistent results, and it’s exciting to hear that the team is gelling.

As time goes on, the trust in Dyche is really building. He’s proven himself to be a survival machine on countless occasions and he has proven he can push beyond that. Everton Football Club’s situation off the pitch is unclear. But, perhaps it’s a wise idea to keep the on-pitch and off-pitch entities separate for now.
All roads lead to Saturday at Goodison Park. The Toffees will walk onto the pitch and play host to Brighton and Hove Albion. Interesting moves will continue to be made in the transfer market. As for Textor, he seems more motivated than ever to make this happen.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has predicted the club are likely to sign a new left-back.
