Chelsea exit medical scheduled for Armando Broja after Everton transfer pursuit

Everton are set to miss out on signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja who is joining Ipswich Town on loan, according to HITC.

The online outlet reported on 20 August that the Tractor Boys have agreed with a deal to sign the Albania international for the season.

The 22-year-old is set to have a medical with the Premier League new boys after training away from the Blues’ first team during preseason.

Everton had shown interest alongside West Ham United, Nottingham Forest and Southampton but now the forward is set for a move to Suffolk.

The Toffees could be in need of a striker before the transfer window slams shut but for now there is positive depth in that position.

With Yousef Chermiti, Beto, Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the club, Sean Dyche has a raft of potential forward options.

Issues for the club come when it is considered that the latter three have all been with linked a move away from Goodison Park throughout the summer.

This is only made worse when you consider that Chermiti is currently out injured and could take some time to return.

If a key player like Calvert-Lewin was to make a move away then Broja could have proved to be a useful replacement option.

Although he has had a difficult spell at Chelsea and loan at Fulham, there is no doubt that there is a good player there with plenty of potential.

The Albanian would have suited a Dyche system but it looks like supporters won’t get to see that play out.
