Everton transfer breakthrough emerges in Alisson chase with formal proposal made

Everton are among two other clubs keen on signing Atletico-MG striker Alisson this month, according to Goal.

The Brazilian news outlet reported on 21 August that Atletico will need an offer of £8.5million to enter talks for the 18-year-old and that a formal proposal is already on the table.

It’s understood that the young Brazilian forward has a release clause of over £50million for overseas clubs.

Everton must not go overboard in their transfer pursuit of Alisson

The Toffees can approach signing Alisson by first submitting an official bid that meets or exceeds the £8.5million threshold set by Atletico-MG to open negotiations.

Given the interest from other clubs, Everton might need to act swiftly or offer a slightly higher initial bid to stand out.

They should leverage the existing interest from Alisson’s agent, who has publicly acknowledged talks, to expedite the process. [O Tempo]

The Merseyside club could structure the deal with an initial payment and performance-based bonuses, which might be attractive to Atletico-MG given their financial situation.

However, if competition intensifies, the Toffees might need to negotiate a fee closer to or activate the striker’s release clause, though this seems highly unlikely due to its high value.

It remains to be seen if he does end up moving to Goodison Park or somewhere else in the transfer window.

In other Everton, a bid update has emerged as the Toffees have opened concrete talks to sign a new midfielder.
