Sean Dyche must push Everton hierarchy to hijack Armando Broja deal amid transfer twist

Sean Dyche must convince Everton sporting director Kevin Thelwell to hijack the transfer of Armando Broja to Ipswich Town.

The Albanian international was set to sign for newly-promoted Ipswich on loan from Chelsea but the deal is now on the brink of collapse.

Fabrizio Romano reported on his X account [24 August] that the deal is now unlikely with both parties exploring alternative options.

Everton have been in the market for a new forward all summer and should make a play to bring long-standing target Broja to Goodison Park.

Everton should hijack Armando Broja transfer

As the Blues head towards the 30 August transfer deadline, there is still uncertainty surrounding the squad.

After the humiliating 3-0 loss at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on the Premier League opening day, Dyche admitted that Dominic Calvert-Lewin could still leave the Blues this season [Daily Mail].

Barcelona striker Vitor Roque, the reported main target to join the side should one of Calvert-Lewin or Beto leave, has agreed to join Real Betis on loan for the year [Fabrizio Romano] leaving the Blues with two underperforming options up top.

Until John Textor completes his proposed takeover of the club, Dyche will need to be creative in the final few days of the window to sign players that will improve the squad depth and immediately challenge for a place in the starting 11.

Broja ticks all the boxes, Ipswich had agreed to a £30m obligation to buy clause in their deal with Chelsea should they retain their Premier League status, while for now, Everton are in a much better place to avoid relegation, a similar clause could be negotiated with the London side.

Chelsea are desperate to move on their unwanted stars to fund another summer of frivolous spending, they are actively looking at alternative solutions for Broja and Everton are actively looking for a striker, it would be foolish to ignore the opportunity.
