Everton can secure cut-price Armando Borja transfer after new Chelsea exit update
Everton have already been busy in the summer transfer window, but there is an expectation that business may not be finished at Goodison Park.
While the Toffees will clearly have to tread the line of financial fair play, reports suggest they could still make one or two new additions before the window slams shut on 30 August [Fabrizio Romano, 24 August].
One player who is understood to be of interest to the Toffees heading into the final days of August is Chelsea striker Armando Broja who had appeared set to join Ipswich Town on loan [Give Me Sport, 24 August].
However, the forward’s move to Portman Road now appears to be set to collapse, with reports suggesting an Achilles issue has been identified during his medical with the Tractor Boys [Daily Mail, 24 August].
Will Armando Broja exit Chelsea amid Everton transfer update?
Although Everton fans won’t want to see the Toffees bring a player who is carrying an injury to Goodison Park at this stage of the window, this new injury development could well help Sean Dyche secure a cut-price deal.
According to the Daily Mail (24 August), Broja’s move to Ipswich could still be completed if Chelsea lower their demands for the 22-year-old in the coming days.
If Enzo Maresca’s side do lower their valuation of the forward, it may give the Toffees an opportunity to swoop in and beat Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys to his signature should the deal now be more affordable.

Ultimately, it seems as though Ipswich still remain in pole position to get their man before the window slams shut, but this latest update will have done little to harm Everton’s hopes of pulling off a last-minute deal.
Of course, whether or not Everton manage to get their man could have major implications on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future.
If a new striker is signed late in the window, it could allow the England international to complete his summer exit.
