Jamie O’Hara slams Everton ace Jordan Pickford after what he did vs Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara believes that Everton ace Jordan Pickford had an “absolute shocker” during the Toffees’ clash against Tottenham.

Everton lost 4-0 to Spurs on 24 August and now find themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table with a goal difference of minus seven.

Pickford was particularly culpable for Spurs’ second goal, getting completely caught out on the ball and being pickpocketed by Son Heung-min, who slotted into an empty goal.

Speaking live on talkSPORT O’Hara chimed in after Jason Cundy co-host gave his thoughts during the ‘winners and losers’ of the matchday section of their show.

“I’m putting in both Muric and Pickford in there as a lump sum,” Cundy said. “Both of them got robbed in their own box of the ball, that can’t happen! If there’s nothing on, don’t have another touch.

“For anyone that has not seen this, Pickford has had a touch with his feet, and Son, we know he’s rapid, but once he got motoring, Pickford couldn’t move. It was terrible.”

This then resulted in O’Hara stating: “It’s a shocker, an absolute shocker.”

Everton need to buck up their ideas as soon as possible

Everton are one of the few Premier League teams who have made a decent amount of additions to their squad since the start of the summer transfer window.

Many expected this season to be one where the Toffees finally don’t find themselves in a Premier League relegation battle, but evidently, they’ve fallen back into their losing ways.

Despite the Merseyside club’s underperformance over the last few years, former Sunderland man Pickford has been one of the club’s best players.

There have been plenty of rumours [Sportslens, 9 May] about the future of the ‘keeper, however, nothing came to fruition and the 30-year-old has ended up staying at Goodison Park [Darren Bent, 20 August].

But, should the club find themselves in another relegation battle, they might not get as lucky as they have previously and end up in the second tier.

Sean Dyche needs to start trusting newbies such as Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom in order to try and bolster his club’s attacking chances as, if the results continue as they are, there may not be much of a future for the former Burnley manager at Goodison Park for much longer.

In other Everton news, Marseille have made Neal Maupay their transfer priority before 30 August.
