Sean Dyche shares Jarrad Branthwaite news in triple injury update at Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche has shared an injury update on Jarrad Branthwaite and has admitted that he still has a “bit longer” to go before he’s back playing.

This comes after the Toffees are evidently in dire need of their defence strengthening following their 4-0 loss at Tottenham on 24 August.

James Garner and Seamus Coleman could be back in contention for next weekend’s Premier League clash, though Tuesday’s EFL Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers might come too soon.

“Whether they have got enough under their belts training-wise to risk on Tuesday we will have to wait and see,” Dyche said in quotes reported by the LiverpoolECHO.

Then, regarding Branthwaite, Dyche admitted that it “will be a bit longer” before he returns.

Everton need Jarrad Branthwaite to return as soon as possible

The summer transfer window has been one of change for Dyche and Everton as many players have both arrived and exited the club since it was opened.

Perhaps one of the club’s most talked about moves that never actually happened is the exit of Branthwaite.

Following his breakout season last term, the defender has been held in high regard across world football.

Many teams have been linked with a move for him but the most interested was that of Manchester United.

And, as shown by their opening games of the season and the fact that they’re at the bottom of the Premier League table, the return of Branthwaite is exactly what the club needs.

Indeed, it doesn’t help matters that Ashley Young got himself suspended which further tarnished the Toffees’ defensive strength.

New boy Jake O’Brien is also yet to start a Premier League game for the club and could also be someone that Dyche looks towards soon to try and help shore up his defence.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have set their demands for the transfer of Neal Maupay.
