Neal Maupay agreement in place for Everton exit before transfer deadline
Neal Maupay has an agreement in place to leave Everton for Marseille, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news outlet reported on 28 August that the 28-year-old wants to leave Goodison Park for the south of France. However, it is understood that the Ligue 1 club is struggling to agree a deal with Everton.
Foot Mercato claims that while Maupay is a priority signing for Marseille, they are looking at alternatives in the final days of the summer transfer window after encountering “difficulties” in their bid to sign the Toffees striker.
Torino’s Antonio Sanabria is reportedly a back-up option for Marseille.
Everton just need to get rid of Neal Maupay
Why are Everton making this harder than they need to?
After a few years of wheeling and dealing due to issues with PSR, the Blues are finally in a position where they don’t have to sell players for bargain basement prices.
Maupay is someone who’s been on the books at Goodison for two years and in his time on Merseyside, he’s contributed with just one goal and 32 appearances.
While not many Evertonians will condone the abuse that players faced at Euston Station after the 4-0 loss at Tottenham on Saturday, you can understand why fans are angry about Maupay, who’s put more effort into feuding with James Maddison on social media than he has as a player for Everton.

With all things considered – such as his wages, the animosity towards him from the fans and the fact he’s downright dreadful – it’s a shock that the Blues aren’t just letting him for for nothing.
Maupay is wasting the club’s money each week. Just get rid of him. Let him be Marseille’s problem now.
In other Everton news, Southampton are more likely to beat the Blues to a new signing.
