Everton set for another signing after sealing Orel Mangala transfer
Everton are expected to seal another transfer after securing the services of Orel Mangala, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports news editor reported on X on 29 April that along with another incoming, there’ll be another outgoing as well.
This comes after news emerged that Neal Maupay is set to seal a Goodison Park exit with the club now in line to pocket more money than they expected initially. [The Athletic]
Myers wrote: “Still expect another departure, and possibly another arrival.”
Everton need to bring in a new striker or a left-back
The Toffees’ pursuit of another transfer, particularly a striker or a left-back, underscores their strategic need to bolster key positions.
The departure of Maupay, despite his underwhelming performance, leaves a gap in the attacking lineup.
A new striker is crucial for Everton to improve their goal-scoring efficiency, which has been inconsistent given Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s erratic form and fitness.
This move would not only provide competition for places but also inject fresh dynamism into the forward line, potentially addressing the team’s reliance on individual brilliance for goals.
On the defensive front, while Vitaliy Mykolenko has been the primary left-back, depth in this position is vital for maintaining squad resilience throughout the season.
A new left-back would offer tactical flexibility, allowing for different formations or providing cover and competition, which could enhance defensive stability and contribute to attacking plays from the left flank.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have been given the green signal as talks have been held for a new £12.7m transfer.
