Everton want permanent cash sale for exit-linked Neal Maupay before Friday deadline
Everton are hoping to sell forward Neal Maupay permanently before Friday’s transfer deadline as interest gathers, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Mirror reported in their print edition (29 August, page 59) that the Toffees are “open to offers” for Maupay, but are keen to sell the striker for a permanent cash fee rather than another loan deal.
Brentford, whom Maupay returned to on loan last season, and Ligue 1 side Marseille have both expressed interest in signing the 28-year-old [Foot Mercato, 28 August], who remains well down the pecking order in the eyes of Sean Dyche.
Will Everton be able to complete permanent Neal Maupay exit?
Maupay is yet to make an appearance in any competition for Dyche’s side this season, and given how difficult the opening weeks of the campaign have been at Goodison Park, it’s hard to see a way back.
The Frenchman’s mere appearance on the bench prior to the Toffees’ 4-0 loss at Tottenham on 24 August was openly mocked by some pundits [beIN Sports], and it’s clear that a move is now the best for all parties.

Maupay is far from the only striker on the books at Goodison with questions over his future as the 30 August transfer deadline looms, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin still attracting interest late in the window [Caught Offside, 27 August].
Should a last-gasp bid come in for Calvert-Lewin which the Toffees, in their current financial position, simply cannot turn down, Maupay may suddenly be thrust back in to the spotlight as an option up front.
However, given his meagre goal return in blue reads just one in 32 appearances, it remains to be seen if Maupay will still be an Everton player on August 31 regardless of what happens elsewhere in the squad.
