Everton could sign David Datro Fofana before deadline after new Dominic Calvert-Lewin twist
Everton could still sign Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana on deadline day even if Dominic Calvert-Lewin stays at the club, according to TEAMtalk.
The report [30 August] claims that whilst Chelsea are interested in taking Calvert-Lewin and the Toffees could get Fofana in the opposite direction, the striker may still join the England man as a teammate if he does not go to Stamford Bridge.
Sean Dyche is currently short of attacking options and the Ivorian could join Calvert-Lewin and Beto ahead of the 11 pm deadline after the exit of Neal Maupay.
Everton remain interested in David Datro Fofana
Fofana is one of many players whose Chelsea career has never got off the ground, having made just four appearances since arriving 18 months ago from Norwegian side Molde.
Loans to Union Berlin and most recently Burnley in the Premier League have helped him gain experience, and it looks as if Dyche is extremely interested in capturing the player.
The club find themselves in a tricky situation with Calvert-Lewin – the 27-year-old’s last real chance to gain his side a fee is before Friday night’s deadline.

If Chelsea do get Calvert-Lewin, it is likely to be a permanent deal for Fofana the other way; a loan deal for the Ivorian is on the cards if he stays.
Having let Maupay end his disastrous spell at Goodison with a move to Marseille, Beto is the only fit out-and-out striker in the first-team squad beyond Calvert-Lewin at present.
