Everton in talks to seal Reiss Nelson transfer after Arsenal developments
Everton have held talks with Arsenal over a deal for Reiss Nelson, according to Graeme Bailey.
The transfer guru reported this via X (30 August) and stated that alongside the Toffees, newly promoted Ipswich are also said to be holding talks with the attacker.
This comes after a deal for Lyon ace Ernest Nuamah fell through [Santi Aouna, 30 August] despite the attacker having agreed terms with the club.
Reiss Nelson would be a good signing for Everton
Nelson would be a stellar transfer for Everton. The Arsenal winger has been with the club since he was young and has even made a fair few Premier League appearances for the club.
However, with the recent form of their attackers alongside the club’s current links with Raheem Sterling, there isn’t likely to be much room for Nelson within Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The club have made a plethora of changes to their squad and despite already adding some attacking talent to their ranks, it’s no secret that the Merseyside outfit have been looking to bring another winger in.
As aforementioned, it seemed as if a deal was done for Nuamah but, in the end it seems to have fallen through.
Should Everton manage to add Nelson to their ranks, it would be a stellar transfer from the club and would bolster their attack tenfold.
He could also offer Dyche an option on either flank and perhaps take some pressure off of the shoulders of Dwight McNeil and newbie Jesper Lindstrom [Shamoon Hafez, 5 August] to perform week-in and week-out.
