Everton target deadline-beating deal for Arsenal ace Reiss Nelson as favourites named
Ipswich Town have been named as the likeliest Premier League club to sign Everton and West Ham target Reiss Nelson by talkSPORT’s Alex Crook.
The chief transfer correspondent claimed live on the radio channel [30 August, 20:53] that Ipswich are the furthest along of four clubs to clinch a loan deal for the Arsenal ace, with the Toffees also interested.
Raheem Sterling’s potential move to the Gunners from Chelsea has pushed the availability of Nelson on loan, and the Toffees are circling after ending talks with Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah [Harry Watkinson, 30 August].
Crook said, after mentioning West Ham United’s interest: “You can add Everton to that as well, but the most advanced are Ipswich.”
Everton pursue late Reiss Nelson deal with Arsenal
If Everton were to get any further ahead in their late chase for Reiss Nelson, it would unarguably be a coup given the talent he has shown in his years with Arsenal.
The winger, who turns 25 in December, needs regular football and does not appear to be fully trusted by Mikel Arteta.
The late availability of the player makes it no surprise he has instantly attracted serious Premier League interest, believed to be from a quartet made up by Sean Dyche’s side, West Ham, Ipswich and also Fulham.

Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison remain the only by-trade wingers in Dyche’s squad at Goodison Park, and one senses Nelson would get plenty of game time.
This is arguably more so for the Gunners star than at newly promoted Ipswich, who already have six out-and-out wingers at their disposal.
The Tractor Boys are the favourites, but let’s not rule anything out from the Toffees’ perspective this late in the window.
