Everton want Miguel Almiron with last-minute Newcastle United exit on cards
Everton want to sign Newcastle United attacker Miguel Almiron before the 11pm deadline, according to Ed Aarons.
The Guardian journalist has reported that a deal is unlikely to happen so late into the window, with the Paraguay international likely to stay.
It is also added that talks are continuing with Lyon over Ernest Nuamah, despite other suggestions that the Toffees had pulled the plug [Harry Watkinson].
Everton want to sign Miguel Almiron
This stinks of desperation at the final hurdle from Kevin Thelwell and Sean Dyche.
Almiron has shined in flourishes at St James’ Park but has never truly been classed as good enough to consistently perform in the Premier League.
Clubs in the same division will rarely let players join another side this close to the deadline too, with Dyche needing a favour from Eddie Howe, realistically.
With money being put on the table for Nuamah earlier in the day though [Ibrahim Sannie Daara], there is a chance that Farhad Moshiri could get desperate after a poor start to the season.
Heavy defeats to Spurs and Brighton could lead to an extra new signing regardless of financial concerns, so this is something to watch until the very last minute.
Some surprises also drop at the very last moments of a transfer window, regardless of clubs having all summer and Almiron has come out of nowhere to be just that at Goodison Park.
