Johnny Cardoso to pass Everton medical as deadline day transfer claim shared
Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso should pass his Everton medical if needed, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the ankle setback the 22-year-old sustained last season should not cause issues with pre-transfer medical checks, but it would be something the Toffees keep an eye on.
This comes after TEAMtalk reported on 13 August that the Toffees were eyeing a move for the United States international.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Cardoso:
“He had an ankle injury last season which was likely a grade 2 injury but I wouldn’t consider it to be a red flag if rehab and return to play were handled correctly.
“Cardoso should pass his medical but Everton will be wise to keep tabs on his ankle periodically.
“These injuries have chances of recurring and can get serious if not dealt with earlier.“
Everton are unlikely to sign another midfielder
Orel Mangala sealed his move to Goodison Park on deadline day and Tim Iroegbunam already joined this summer.
The Toffees may priortise a left-back or a new attacker over a midfielder on transfer deadline day.

Cardoso appears to be an interesting option and perhaps the club may return to him in the coming months and years if he does not end up leaving.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has issued an update as the Toffees want to sign a £15m-rated West Brom star.
