Alan Pardew labels John Textor a ‘disgrace’ over what he said about Everton figure

Alan Pardew has branded prospective Everton owner John Textor “a disgrace” over comments made about Sean Dyche.

Textor told Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers [12 September] that he would speak to Dyche about his ability to coach the current squad and raised further questions regarding his long-term future at the Blues.

Pardew slammed Textor live on talkSPORT [15 September, 8:15pm] for openly discrediting the Everton figure and labelled the comments “ridiculous”.

He said: “The guy who looks like he might be going in there, the one from Palace, I just don’t see the comments he made about Sean being very flattering.

“He almost made the assumption that Sean can motivate English players but not foreign ones. It’s a disgrace really.”

Pardew added: “The comments he made about Sean were unnecessary, ridiculous.”

John Textor set to decide on Sean Dyche future at Everton

The more the situation develops at Goodison Park, the more it becomes apparent that Dyche will not be in charge of Everton next season.

At the moment, it doesn’t look good for the 53-year-old with four consecutive losses to start the season, and surrendering a two-goal lead in consecutive matches for a loss to further pile on the misery at the Blues.

Dyche has the backing of senior officials within the club [BBC Sport] for the time being following his heroics securing a comfortable fifteenth-placed finish last season against the odds, 14 points clear of relegation.

He may have performed a stellar job last season, but Blues’ performances have been a cause of concern since the opening day, and the repeated cycle of fighting against the drop needs to be broken.

The decision will ultimately be in the hands of Textor. Should he complete his proposed takeover, it could become an easy decision to make with Dyche in the final year of his Everton contract.

Nevertheless, the Toffees must focus on the task at hand and ignore all the outside noise in a bid to get results.

There have been promising signs despite the two devastating losses to Bournemouth and Aston Villa, but whether Dyche is the man to turn those performances into points remains to be seen.
