Everton takeover bidders scared of Premier League relegation as insider shares what he’s heard

Bryan King claims prospective buyers at Goodison Park are concerned about Everton being relegated from the Premier League.

The ex-Goodison scout has emphasised that the Toffees are currently in a “very poor spell”.

John Textor recently claimed in an interview with Sky Sports News (12 September), that he is confident of a takeover deal being agreed before the 30 November deadline in his exclusivity agreement.

However, the American is not the only prospective buyer at Goodison Park. Dan Friedkin has returned to the table with another takeover bid, throwing a spanner in the works (via The Guardian, 17 September).

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – doesn’t think an Everton takeover would be very attractive if the club were to be relegated.

“Everton are in a very poor spell at the moment,” King said.

“No points, things can only get tougher, they’re away again against Leicester in the next match. I’ve heard things coming out of Everton where these prospective buyers are worried the club are going to get relegated.

“The last thing any prospective buyer wants is for the team to have to spend next season in the Championship.”

Everton to be relegated from the Premier League?

The Toffees have been fighting relegation for several years now. However, this year more than ever, Sean Dyche must ensure that he keeps the club in the Premier League.

Everton won’t want their final season at Goodison Park to be spoiled by relegation. In addition, they cannot afford to move into their new stadium while playing Championship football.

Therefore, the club need to turn things around and fast. Otherwise, things could reach an all-time low on the blue side of Merseyside.

In other Everton news, King claims Sean Dyche will be compensated as sack speculation grows at Goodison Park.
