Everton v Newcastle score prediction made by Jeff Stelling for Premier League clash

Jeff Stelling has predicted Everton and Newcastle to share the spoils at Goodison Park on Saturday, 5 October.

The former Soccer Saturday presenter told talkSPORT’s X handle, that he finds it hard to pick a clear winner between the two sides.

The Toffees are in a fight against relegation while he has not been overly impressed by the Magpies’ performances either this season.

He said: “Saturday at 5:30, Everton take on Newcastle at Goodison Park.

“I am slightly worried about Newcastle this season. I tipped them for top four but there have been too many flat performances so far.

“They usually have a goal in them, though last season they went to Goodison Park and managed to lose 3-0.

“Everton are scrapping for their lives. I can’t divide these two. I’m going to go Everton 1-1 Newcastle.”

Everton can surely pick up the three points against Newcastle

The Toffees’ timing couldn’t be more opportune as they prepare to host Newcastle, especially riding the wave of their first win of the season.

They beat Crystal Palace last weekend and it’s no surprise that Jarrad Branthwaite’s return saw them picking up their first three points and the 22-year-old is expected to be available for the full 90 minutes again.

This victory not only boosts their morale but also injects much-needed confidence into the squad.

The momentum from this win, combined with the electric atmosphere expected from Goodison Park, could significantly sway the match in Everton’s favour.

Newcastle, despite their potential, have shown inconsistent performances, which might make them vulnerable.

Stelling’s prediction of a draw underscores the unpredictability of the game, but for the Toffees, the home advantage and the psychological lift from ending their winless streak could be pivotal.

Sean Dyche cannot set up for a draw and needs to do everything he can to prepare his team to secure the victory.
