Newcastle behind-the-scene issues speculated ahead of showdown v Everton

Bryan King claims things aren’t as settled at Newcastle United as people might believe ahead of their trip to Goodison Park to play Everton on Saturday (5 October).

The ex-Goodison scout has pointed toward the club’s inconsistent form, describing the Magpies as “a funny side” this season.

Newcastle have won twice, drawn twice and lost once in the Premier League thus far ahead of their trip to Goodison Park.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison Newsbelieves the encounter could go either way.

“Newcastle have been a funny side this year,” King said.

“The games you expect them to win, they’ve been drawing or losing. However, then the games you expect them to lose, they’ve been winning or drawing.

“Things are not settled up there as much as we might think they are. This is always a good game, Everton against Newcastle. Therefore, it will be interesting to see which team can build some momentum.”

Everton to claim second win of the season against Newcastle United?

The Toffees finally claimed their first win of the season last time out, beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Goodison Park (28 September).

Therefore, Dyche will be keen to continue building this momentum against Newcastle.

And a win against the Magpies could be the perfect statement result for Everton which sees them start to build some confidence.

They are expected to be without Jarrad Branthwaite (via the Mirror, 4 October, page 65), which will make things difficult.

However, as King has alluded to, Eddie Howe’s side have not been firing on all cylinders this season. As a result, this could be the perfect chance for Everton to make it back-to-back wins.
