Everton loanee Neal Maupay embarrasses himself as footage emerges away from Goodison Park

Everton fans will be in no rush to welcome Neal Maupay back to Goodison Park after embarrassing himself during the most recent Marseille game.

The 28-year-old striker was far from quiet when he finally secured his move away from Merseyside, joining the Ligue 1 side on a season-long loan, even scoring on his first start for the club.

Maupay’s positive times in France have already taken a hit, however, during Marseille’s 1-1 draw with bottom-of-the-league Angers on Friday 4 October.

Following a bright start, Anger full-back Lilian Rao-Lisoa was shown a straight red card after a VAR review, giving Maupay’s side the perfect chance to grab all three points and push up the Ligue 1 table.

The Toffees loanee had other ideas, though. Having picked up a yellow card just one minute after the incident, he was shown another yellow card, followed by a red, just three minutes later.

Neal Maupay makes a fool out of himself away from Everton

Fans on Merseyside will not be at all surprised to see the Frenchman make a stupid decision. While he can have a positive impact on the pitch, he continues to provide a source of frustration.

Luckily for Sean Dyche and the Toffees, those frustrations are far away from Goodison Park this season, and many will hope the striker never appears in an Everton shirt ever again.

The forward’s reaction in Ligue 1 shows just how immature he can be, even in such an important moment like being given a one-man advantage, and that is someone the Toffees can do without.

The club will certainly need to make a decision about his future at the end of the season, but for now, he is just a thought at the back of everyone’s minds.
