Nathan Patterson new injury update emerges for Everton v Ipswich Town

Everton defender Nathan Patterson is unlikely to be ready to play the full 90 minutes against Ipswich Town on 19 October, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as he’s been out for a number of months, it makes sense for the Toffees to ease him back into action following his hamstring issue.

Sean Dyche has stated that he’s been training well and he could return to the bench at Portman Road on Saturday.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Patterson: “Dyche recently said that it’s common sense with Patterson and that means a methodical plan to return to matches which sounds like bounce matches as Dyche used the term ‘game program’.

He has been out for an extended time so just have to be methodical and sensible as he takes the next step.

Given recent updates, he seems ready to make a first-team return and play minutes but he may not start yet.

Nathan Patterson must take this chance and become a regular for Everton

Patterson has struggled to make an impact since moving to Goodison Park so it’s important that he takes his injury return seriously.

With right-back proving a problem area for Dyche and the Toffees, he could potentially have the chance to make a fresh start and prove he can do a job at Goodison Park.

Should the Scotland international impress in his first few games back, the spot will be his to lose.
