Nathan Patterson to be available for Everton clash v Ipswich after injury development

Nathan Patterson will be available against Ipswich after featuring for the Everton Under-21s side this week, according to The Athletic.

The online outlet reported on 10 October that the Scotland international completed 90 minutes and grabbed an assist against Reading’s Under-21s on Monday 7 October.

The 22-year-old could return to senior action after the international break after making two appearances for Paul Tait’s side.

The right-back has been out since April with a ruptured hamstring and will be hopeful of recovering fully with no relapses in training before the clash at Portman Road.

Nathan Patterson could make Everton return v Ipswich

The Scot has certainly been a miss at Goodison despite only making nine starts last campaign before suffering his injury blow.

Reintroducing him into the squad could prove to be useful to Sean Dyche in slowly phasing out the likes of Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman.

The duo are steady operators and have bags of experience but at some point they are going to let the Toffees down as their age starts to show.

It could prove to be the perfect opportunity for Patterson to step up and take a starting role after many months of injury struggle.

The former Rangers ace has struggled to make his presence felt in the starting XI since moving from Ibrox in 2022 but this could be his chance.

Dyche will have a decision on his hands ahead of a trip to face the Tractor Boys how much or if the defender features at all.
