Asmir Begovic responds to question about Dan Friedkin as Everton takeover admission made
Asmir Begovic has revealed the players at Everton don’t know any details about Dan Friedkin’s takeover at Goodison.
The American businessman agreed on a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake in the Toffees last month [Fabrizio Romano, 23 September] with a move potentially edging closer despite limited updates from the club.
It is clear that the players are in the dark as much as supporters after Begovic revealed to the Liverpool Echo on 17 October that he is just focusing on, on-the-pitch rather than the boardroom.
He said: “No matter what the origin of the owner is, I think it’s about bringing in the best interests and stability to the football club, hopefully, this will all work out for the best.
“We (players) don’t know much about the details and just focus on our role but hope that everything works out the absolute best for everyone involved.”

The ownership situation at Goodison just refuses to go away with the Roma owner in the driving seat to take over but there has been little information from the American or the club in recent weeks and months.
It has been suggested that a deal is still on track [Chris Beesley] but supporters wouldn’t be blamed for becoming more nervous as this saga continues.
These nerves probably won’t be eased by the latest update from Begovic who has little insight into progress being made on Merseyside.
It isn’t necessarily of interest to the players and they don’t look to be privy to information from TFG or Farhad Moshiri and are waiting for news just as fans would be.
With that being said, a potential November date for the takeover feels like a push given the general lack of information and updates.
Begovic and his teammates, alongside supporters, will just have to be patient and await updates from Friedkin and the Toffees.
