TFG takeover could be rapidly advancing behind locked doors at Everton
The Friedkin Group’s Everton takeover will have to be “moving quickly” to be completed before the start of November, according to football finance expert Dan Plumley.
Farhad Moshiri has agreed a historic deal with the Roma owners to sell his controlling stake at Goodison Park [Fabrizio Romano, 23 September], but following the announcement, there has been a lack of updates from either the club or TFG.
While Plumley admits it is difficult to judge how quickly things are moving behind the scenes at Goodison Park, he does insist there is still a possibility the takeover could be agreed as early as next month.
“The lack of updates is the interesting thing here,” Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.
“We aren’t seeing the inside situation, so it could be moving at pace and both sides could be quiet about that for various reasons.
“If that’s not happening, I think things would have to move pretty quickly now. Even if takeovers are at really advanced stages, they can take a few weeks to get over the line.
“I guess that November date is not impossible, but if things aren’t moving quickly then that will be pushing it tight.
“But again, we’re only seeing so much and if there are no updates coming, it could be that things are moving really quickly or it could be that they’re just progressing and that will dictate the direction of travel.

“If there’s not a lot going on, I think November becomes a little bit tight, but if things are moving quickly, it is possible.”
When will the Friedkin Group complete their Everton takeover at Goodison Park?
Everton fans will obviously be desperate to hear some sort of update from either the club or the Friedkins on the status of their takeover, but the prospective owners have always been rather quiet in their business approach.
Unlike other other interested parties such as 777 Partners and John Textor, the Roma owners tend to stay quiet until their business is completed.
While fans will want to remain informed, it is probably better for everyone involved if this takeover is carried out at the right pace and behind the scenes.
