Everton alarm bells silenced amid Friedkin Group takeover updates at Goodison Park

Everton supporters shouldn’t be “ringing any alarm bells” despite the recent lack of takeover developments, according to football finance expert Dan Plumley.

The Friedkin Group have agreed a deal to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake at Goodison Park, but their agreement still requires approval from the Premier League, the FA and the Financial Conduct Authority.

Since the initial announcement, both the Toffees and TFG have been relatively quiet about the deal, but Plumley insists the silence can only be a positive thing for Sean Dyche’s side, off and on the pitch.

“I keep saying no alarm bells,” Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.

“I think as we’ve said before with these things, even when a deal has been done in principle, it can still take a little bit of time.

“You’ve got to look at that through a little bit of a resourcing lens as well. The Premier League have a lot going on in other aspects of their business at the minute with different things happening at other clubs.

When will Farhad Moshiri exit Everton amid Goodison Park takeover developments?

“These things do take a little bit of time as I think we are still in that period and there has also been nothing to suggest there are any issues that we’re aware of.

“I appreciate that they often work very quietly behind the scenes and I think you have to take that into account as well.

“But I don’t think we should be ringing any alarm bells just yet. These things do take a little bit of time.”

Everton fans will of course always be keen to air on the side of caution, particularly given the drama that surrounded 777 Partners’ takeover last season, but it seems as though they have no reason to be worried this time around.

While the final details of the takeover may not have yet been ratified and completed, it seems as though things are progressing as expected behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
